Audition Dates & Times

Auditions will take place on Thursday, October ?, from 5:00 – 5:50 p.m. before rehearsal in the DMS choir room.  If you can’t possibly make that time, the following times can be scheduled.  These are in order of preference, so please pick the earliest date/time you can meet.  Email Sara to schedule an alternative audition timeslot.

  1. October ? – after rehearsal, 8:05 p.m.
  2. October ? – before rehearsal, 5:30 – 5:50 p.m.
  3. October ? – after rehearsal, 8:05 p.m.

Audition Guidelines

  • Prepare each song (in its entirety) for which you would like to be considered.
    • Choose from the recitative & aria listings below  
    • Plan to sing 16-32 measures of your first choice at the audition. 
    • Choose a section that shows off your expertise.
    • The judges might request that you sing a specific section from the same song or a different song on your list.
  • Sara will play for auditions or you may bring your own accompanist.
  • Gather in the choir room to fill out your audition form and wait for your turn.
    • Auditionees will be your audience.
    • Enter the room between auditions only.
  • These are blind auditions.
    • A panel of judges will listen from behind the band room door.
  • Results will be posted on this page within a week of the last audition. 
  • The Soloist for #9 needs to be ready to rehearse with the orchestra on November ?.
    • All other soloists will rehearse with the orchestra on November 15th.

NOTE:  Recitative/Aria pairs may be considered as one solo, or they may be split into two solos to involve more singers.
